Providing the same spectacular garden performance as customer favourite ‘Arizona Sun’, we are pleased to offer two spectacular new dwarf gaillardia ‘firsts’ from seed - one red and one apricot. ‘Arizona Apricot’ and ‘Arizona Red Shades’ are longflowering and low-maintenance, perfect for containers and for filling gaps at the front of a border. Flowering in their first year, colourful blooms sit neatly above uniform, wellbranched plants well into autumn. Providing fabulous colour whatever the weather, these new gaillardia are great value hardy perennials.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed , moist seed compost in pots or trays . Lightly cover the seed with vermiculite. Place sown pots or trays in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of between 20-25C (68-77F) . After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 14-21 days. When large enough to handle transplant seedlings into 7.5 cm (3in) pots or trays.

Growing Instructions

Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart. For best results provide a well drained soil in full sun or part shade.
