This cabbage all year round collection includes the following varieties;
Caramba - Sweetheart cabbages are becoming increasingly popular in supermarkets during late summer through to winter. Now you can grow your own! Cabbage Caramba has tender, sweet pointed mid-green hearts, ideal shredded raw in salads and coleslaws or delicious as a steamed vegetable.
Tourmaline - Cut Tourmaline throughout the winter and into spring thanks to its excellent cold weather tolerance. Replacing the ever-popular but now discontinued Tarvoy, this attractive, deeply savoyed, dark green cabbage produces compact, delicious heads. Plants also show a high resistance to xanthemonas (black rot).
Surprise - A new summer cabbage of Golden Cross type, producing round, shiny mid-green heads of a sweet flavour. Cabbage Surprise F1 Hybrid is ideal shredded raw in salads, for stir fries, coleslaw or as a cooked vegetable. Stands a very long time before splitting. Excellent for successional sowing for summer and autumn harvests.

Sowing Instructions

Sow thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 23cm (9in) apart in well-drained, fertile soil, which has been raked to a fine tilth and contains plenty of well-rotted compost or organic matter. It will also be beneficial to rake in 3oz/sq yard of any balanced fertiliser.

Growing Instructions

Transplant when seedlings have 5-6 leaves, spacing by 38cm (15in) apart each way. Water ground regularly, especially in dry periods. Hoe between plants occasionally, and give a liquid feed as heads begin to develop.
