Cucurbita pepo. Easy to grow and very prolific and cost effective for the space each plant takes up. Courgette Firenze produces high yields of small, slender courgettes throughout summer if picked regularly. Perfect for growing in a bucket sized container on a sunny patio.

Sow seeds from April to June indoors, May to June outside once all risk of frost has passed.
For indoor sowing: Sow seeds individually in small pots of seed sowing mix, 20mm (¾in) deep. Place pots in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag and place at 21-25C (70-77F) until after germination.
Transplant seedlings into larger pots when large enough to handle and finally plant outdoors when frost risk has passed, 60-75cm (24-30in) per plant each way.
Water and liquid feed during dry weather.
