We are so very impressed with this variety, both myself and my Dad are overrun with these little cucumbers! They don't last long in the kitchen as they are so delicious, and take no time to prepare as they don't need peeling either. This was my first attempt at growing cucmbers, I can't believe how easy they were, and that I hadn't tried them before! Already ordered more seed for next year, and I still have plenty of fruits left on my plants!
Sow seeds from February to May for indoor growing, April to May for outdoors. Sow seed 13mm (½in) deep in 7.5cm (3in) pots of free-draining compost. Place in a propagator and keep at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F) until after germination, usually 5-7 days.
When first true leaves develop, transplant into 13cm (5in) pots. Finally plant into 25cm (10in) pots or growbags. Grow on at a minimum 15C (60F).
Support on a strong cane or netting, allowing the main shoot to reach the top of the cane. Pinch out growing point and allow two sideshoots to trail downwards. Keep plants moist at all times and shade if necessary. Keep humidity high and pick fruits regularly.
Avoid peeling as the dark green skin is rich in carotenoid antioxidant.
