An utterly different and unique primula. Dainty, eyecatching, kniphofia-like flowerscape with carmine, rose and purple mingled together. Will grow in an open border but best in semi-shade.
Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 70-75F (20-25C). Surface sow on a peat/sand mix seed compost and do not exclude light. Sowing Time: February to July. Seed germinates usually within 30 days. Keep seed compost moist, but not saturated. Lower the temperature after germination.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out 30cm (12in) apart.
Prefers a moist, well drained soil. Plant in full sun or part shade.
