Probably the most winter-hardy, resilient Penstemon we have ever found! Bushy mounds of deep green foliage are enhanced by unusual frosty white, bicoloured blooms. Flowers throughout the summer in borders or large containers.
Sow February to April. Place seed on the surface of a good free draining, damp, seed compost. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Seal container inside a polythene bag and place at 15-20C (59-68F). Germination can take 1 to 6 months, but is often quicker. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots. Grow on in cooler conditions for 10 to 15 days before planting out after risk of frost, 60cm (24 inches) apart. Plants will prove hardy if wet winter conditions are avoided.
