Ideally for outdoor growing. Allow plants to trail along the ground or climb up a trellis. Early to set, Cucumber Green Fingers produces finger-sized 10-12cm (4-5in), smooth skinned, firm, crisp and bitter-free fruits. Pick regularly for a long season of production. Cucumber Green Fingers is ideal for adding to children's lunch boxes. Excellent powdery mildew tolerance.
Sow seeds 13mm (½in) deep in 7.5cm pots of good seed compost. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag and place at 21-25C (70-77F) until after germination, which usually takes about 7 days.
Seeds can also be sown direct outdoors once the soil has warmed and all risk of frost has passed, 2cm (¾in) deep in rows.
Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for a few days before planting out after risk of frost has passed, 90cm (36in) apart each way.
This variety has both male and female flowers, do not remove the male flowers. Allow plant to trail or support on a trellis or netting. Feed with potash fertiliser once fruiting commences and keep well watered.
