Description

With ongoing climate changes, Cauliflower Chassiron has been especially bred for the July to late-October cutting period. This variety has proven excellent quality when grown during heatwaves and drought, as well as in cooler, wetter summers and autumns. Plants have good leaf cover protecting the deep, pure-white, smooth curds, preventing any discoloration.

Sowing Instructions

Best sown in April for July to October cutting. Sow March to May for extended cutting programme.
Sow seeds in individual pots or a seed tray of good seed compost and cover with 6mm (¼in) of compost or vermiculite, at a minimum of 15C (60F), until germination which takes around 7 days.
Alternatively, sow seeds thinly in a prepared seedbed 13mm (½in) deep, allowing 30cm (12in) between rows.

Growing Instructions

Transplant when seedlings have 5-6 leaves, or transplant from the seedbed around 5 weeks from sowing. Plant at 60cm (24in) x 75cm (30in) spacing. Plant firmly and keep watered for best quality heads.
