Attractive Mediterranean annual with the common name of Venus Looking Glass. Plants are covered with pretty purple and lilac blue flowers with a startling white centre which open in sunshine and close up when the weather is dull or wet.
Easy to grow and gives excellent ground cover.
Sow March to May. Sow outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 12mm (½in) deep, in rows 30cm (12in) apart.
When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 20cm (8in) apart.
Water during dry spells to prolong flowering.
