Description

A multi-purpose variety, Calabrese Aquiles is primarily for early sowings and summer cropping, producing smooth, fine-domed heads 60-65 days from transplanting. Overwintered sowings can produce quality heads in late spring.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds February to June or September for overwintering. Sow thinly in a well-prepared seedbed, 13mm (½in) deep, successionally, to plant out after 6 weeks or when large enough to handle.
Can also be sown in modules indoors for transplanting. September sowings are transplanted in March for harvesting in June.

Growing Instructions

Plant out 45cm (18in) apart each way, or 30cm (12in) each way for 'baby heads'.

Keep well watered during dry weather.
