Large purple, bronze or green leaves, undersides and stems maroon. Large heads of blooms.
Sow February to July in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 55-60F (13-15C). Surface sow on a peaty compost and keep compost slightly moist. Germination usually takes 1-6 months.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out in moist, loamy soil and part shade.
