Perfect for containers as 'baby leaf' or as full size plants. The dark green, rounded leaves with an upright habit are produced in abundance. Spinach Fiorana has high resistance to downy mildew, making it ideal for spring and autumn production. Spinach Fiorana also has good bolting resistance for summer sowings. Perfect for containers. Seeds are in the RHS Vegetable Collection.
Sow seeds from March to August every 3 or 4 weeks. Sow seeds thinly in containers of multipurpose compost, or in broad drills outdoors, 13mm (½in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Sow regularly every 3 or 4 weeks for continuous supply of fresh 'baby leaves' or mature leaves.
Thin seedlings if necessary to about 5cm (2in) apart.
Water well during dry periods which will also minimise bolting (running to seed). Harvest throughout late spring, summer and autumn.
