Description

Giant, fully double flowers of burgundy or plum veined, often more than 10cm (4in) across! Add to this its cascading habit and you have one of the very best basket and container plants creating a waterfall of pleated powderpuffs all summer long. Height: 23-30cm (9-12in).

Sowing Instructions

Germinate at 20-30C (68-86F) on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Apply a fine sprinkling of vermiculite, but do not cover the seed completely. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.

Growing Instructions

Transplant seedlings, when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots. Grow on in cooler conditions for 10-15 days before planting out. Plant outside after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart, or grow on in 7.5cm (3in) pots indoors in a cool, well ventilated position with shade from direct sun.
