Description

Increasingly popular addition to mixed salads as both 'baby leaves' and as a mature plant. Spinach Palco produces quality, dark green leaves, throughout the season from March-September sown outdoors, with later sowings under glass. Spinach Palco has resistance to Downy Mildew A. B, C and D. T&M are pleased to offer a range of seed varieties, all totally organic with the Soil Association accreditation. T&M have specially selected F1 hybrids or varieties bred to give increased hybrid vigour, garden performance and flavour, thus increasing your harvest. Due to its wide ranging pest and disease resistance, there will be no need for the use of chemicals, making it ideal for organic gardeners.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds thinly, 3cm (1in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart.

Growing Instructions

Thin seedlings to 23cm (9in) apart when large enough to handle.

Aftercare

Thinnings can be used in the kitchen. Water freely during growth. Harvest by snapping off leaves close to the ground, pick successively from several plants to ensure continuous supply.

Nutritional Information

Popeye was right! You can eat no better vegetable than spinach as it is rich in Vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, lutein (which helps protect against eye disease) and dietary fibre.
