Description

A voluminous butterhead. with an appealing mid green colour. Lettuce Butterhead Fatima is slow to bolt, standing longer than most varieties, makes it ideal for successional sowing, March- August. A good resistance to tipburn, Bremia NL1-16, and Lettuce Mosaic virus tolerant, all help to give a clean dense head.

Lettuce Butterhead Fatima has been bred to give increased Hybrid vigour, garden performance and flavour, thus increasing your harvest. Due to their wide ranging pest and disease resistance, there will be no need for the use of chemicals, making them ideal for organic gardeners.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds thinly from spring to mid summer 6mm (¼in) deep in drills 38cm (15in) apart. A moist well drained soil which has had plenty of compost during the previous autumn is best. In very hot weather it is best to water the soil before sowing and to make sowings during the early afternoon.

Growing Instructions

Thin out gradually to 30cm (12in) apart.

Aftercare

Harvest when the head feels firm when gently pressed. Sow in early autumn for overwintering.

The dark green leaves of lettuce are a good source of beta-carotene and Vitamin A.
