Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds March to August. Sow seeds thinly, 1cm (½ inch) deep in drills 30cm (12 inches) apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth.

Growing Instructions

When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 30cm (12in) apart. Harvest when the heads feel firm when pressed.

Aftercare

Prefers a moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Water ground regularly, especially during dry periods.

The dark green leaves of lettuce are a good source of beta-carotene and Vitamin A.
