Cauliflower Pavilion is an Australian bred variety producing premium quality deep, pure white curds during late September and throughout October. The curds are well protected against frosts by wrapper leaves, which prolongs the curd quality and extends the cropping season. Seeds are in the RHS Vegetable Collection.
Sow seeds May to June. Sow seeds thinly into well raked soil, 1cm (½ inch) deep in drills 23cm (9 inches) apart.
Thin seedlings when large enough to handle, and transplant about 5 weeks from sowing, 60cm (2ft) apart each way. Plant firmly, water well until established. Prefers a moist, rich, well-drained soil.
Cauliflowers are a good source of Vitamin C and are low in calories, making them a healthy diet snack.
Try Cauliflower Cheese with added nutmeg.
