Vigorous plant and hugely productive over a long period if picked regularly. Slightly curved, dark green pencil pods of good flavour, stringless when young. Excellent for freezing.
Sow seed mid April in pots indoors, plant out from late May, or sow earlv May to July outdoors. Can also be sown in March for protected growing in a greenhouse and harvest from June. Sow 4-5cm (l½-2in) deep in well-prepared soil. Allow 15-20cm (6-8in) between plants and 45cm (18 in) between rows. Germination and establishment can he poor in cold wet soils, in this case raise plants indoors in modules for later planting out.
Excellent for freezing.
