Nice and crunchy

An excellent iceberg, one of the best but has 2 let downs. Firstly it takes a few extra weeks compared to some to reach harvest therefore occupying ground for longer. Secondly, it needs a lot of room as it has loads of outer leaves surrounding the main head. Hence the score of 4.
Sow March to July. Sow seed thinly at regular intervals direct outside, 12mm (½in) deep in drills 38cm (15in) apart.
Thin seedlings to 30cm (12in) apart when large enough to handle.
Water well during dry periods.
Cut hearts store well in the refrigerator. The crunchy texture of this variety makes it ideal for use in mixed salads.
