Description

Exclusively launched by T&M back in 1979 as the most crisp and sweet hearted Cos which stood in perfect quality without bolting through the summer. Upright habit with noticeable savoyed/bubbled dark green outer leaves. Good sweetness, use as a sugar cos when young, or as a fully hearted mature lettuce. Also suited as a ‘cut and come again’ salading.

Sowing Instructions

Ideal for spring and summer sowings. Sow seed thinly at regular intervals 1cm (½in) deep, in drills 30-38cm (12-15in) apart.

Growing Instructions

Thin seedlings to 30cm (12in) apart for full-hearted lettuce or to 15cm (6in) for baby leaf or 'cut and come again' salading.

Aftercare

Water well during dry periods.

Kitchen Notes

Cut heads can keep for up to 2 weeks in a refrigerator. Crunchy hearts make it an ideal salad ingredient.
