An outstanding basket variety producing long-trailing stems, smothered in large double and semi-double Camelia-like flowers in two spectacular bicolour shades and a vibrant red. Ideal for filling baskets, window boxes or Flower Pouches™ with colour from July right through to October.
Height: 23-30cm (9-12in) Stems trail to 45-60cm (18-24in) in length.
Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of around 24-27C (75-80F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 15-60 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays.
CAUTION: Dust-like seeds. To open, hold over a sheet of white paper, cut along three sides of inner pack and carefully open out flat. Tap the packet gently to dislodge seed.
Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 15-20cm (6-8in) apart in baskets or containers.
For best results, provide a rich, light, well-drained soil-less compost in full sun or part shade.
