Description

Bushy, free flowering plants in a stunning mixture of 12 strong colours, including many bicolours. Unlike other Primula obconica varieties, Twilly Touch Me is primine free, so causes no skin irritation. This makes it ideal for growing as an attractive glasshouse or indoor pot plant. Height: 25-30cm (10-12 inches).

Sowing Instructions

Sow February-May in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with black plastic. Place in a propagator or a warm place, and keep at a temperature of between 15-21C (60-70F). After sowing keep an eye on sown seeds, and as soon as you see the seeds start to chit (grow a small white shoot) remove the black plastic and then lightly sprinkle vermiculite over the seeds . Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 21-80 days.

Growing Instructions

When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays.

Aftercare

Pots can then be either grown in a cool glasshouse through the summer, or plunged outdoors in a sheltered frame until the Autumn when they can be brought indoors and potted into 13-15cm (5-6in) pots. As flower stems develop feed once a week with a high potash feed.
