This superb and striking Sunflower was discovered in Japan and boasts huge flowers, one to each plant, 8 -12in across with rich orange-yellow petals and a chocolate-brown centre. The single, strong stemmed plants make this variety excellent in the garden and long lasting when used as a cut flower.
Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Sow spring to early summer outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 12mm (½in) deep in rows 45cm (18in) apart.
They prefer a sunny open site but will grow in most sites and soils.
