An elegant, high quality border plant resulting from T&M's own breeding program. Tall, stately flower spikes packed with many fully double, power-puff blooms of peachy-cream, some with a tinge of raspberry-pink. Best grown in groups at the back of the border. Flowers mid to late summer. Height 1.5-2m. (5-6ft).
Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Sow on the surface of a good seed compost from February to July. Make sure the compost is moist but not over wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 12-21 days at 15-21C (65-75F). Do not exclude light which is beneficial to germination.
They can also be sown in mid summer in shallow drills, overwintered in a coldframe and planted out in spring 60cm (24in) apart. This produces larger plants and is recommended if the soil is heavy or badly drained.
Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Plant out 38cm (15in) apart in well cultivated garden soil and some shelter.
For flowering during the first year - Sow plants during Autumn to late winter.
