Zea mays : Butterscotch F1

A major new variety of early/mid season maturity, in that not only is it a corn of super sweetness, but Sweetcorn Butterscotch has also been modified by the 'sugar enchance' gene. This ensures a much tenderer, easy to eat, melt-in-the-mouth quality to the grain and a retained sweetness after harvest or freezer storage, significantly better than regular varieties. Height 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft).

Zea mays : Conquerer F1 Hybrid (Supersweet)

Later maturing, Sweetcorn Conquerer is well adapted to our indifferent summer weather. Strong growing plants 210cm (7ft) tall, with very few tillers (sideshoots), averaging three, 20cm (8in) long cobs per plant, each with 14-18 rows of kernels full to the tip. Sweetcorn Conquerer has superb eating quality!

Zea mays : Early Xtra Sweet F1

At harvest time Sweetcorn Early Xtra Sweet is twice as sweet as other varieties. Instead of the sweetness and flavour deteriorating as in other sweet normal varieties, Sweetcorn Early Xtra Sweet has a rich sugary flavour and is easy to grow. To ensure maximum sweetness do not grow near ordinary varieties.

Zea mays : Extra Tender & Sweet F1 Hybrid

Tendersweet. Superior in both taste and texture, Sweetcorn Extra Tender & Sweet F1 is quicker to germinate and has better vigour than other varieties. Produces 2-3, 18cm (7½in) cobs per plant, each with 16-18 rows of bright yellow tender sweet kernels. Flavour guide: rich and sugar-sweet. Sweetcorn Extra Tender & Sweet F1 has long lasting flavour and is easy to grow. Isolation from other sweetcorn varieties not required.

Zea mays : Lark F1

Sweetcorn Lark is a tendersweet variety giving superior sweetness with a softer, less chewy texture than supersweets, making kernels more pleasurable to eat as well as easier to digest. Improved germination adds to the appeal. Sweetcorn Lark can be also grown with other varieties, so there is no need to isolate. Requires a fertile soil in a sunny position. Seeds are in the RHS Vegetable Collection.

Zea mays : Minor F1

Grow your own tiny corn cobs for Chinese cooking and casseroles. Harvest the delicious tiny, tasty sweetcorn cobs of Sweetcorn Minor fresh from your garden - so much tastier than the tinned variety. The baby corn of Sweetcorn Minor are harvested before pollination just as the 'silk tassels' begin to show.

Zea mays : Mirai Bicolour M302 F1 Hybrid

Supersweet

Regarded as one of the most delicious sweetcorn series available. Sweetcorn Mirai Bicolour M302 F1 produces strong plants with succulent 20cm (8in) cobs with 'extra tender', sweet, golden-yellow kernels (and an occasional white kernel) giving instant eye-appeal. Juicy and tender if eaten raw or delicious for 'corn on the cob' cooked in the normal way.

Zea mays : Northern Extra Sweet F1 Hybrid

A reliable performer in British summers, Sweetcorn Northern Extra Sweet is especially suited to cooler northern districts. One of the earliest maturing of the 'supersweets', Sweetcorn Northern Extra Sweet produces good quality, well filled cobs up to 20cm (8in) long. Sturdy plants but growing only to 150 to 180cm (5 to 6 feet) tall.

Zea mays : Ovation F1 Hybrid

A mid-season supersweet type, Sweetcorn Ovation F1 produces large cobs of 20-23cm (8-9in) long, filled to the tip with 12-14 rows of delicious kernels with a delicious sugar-sweet flavour. Sweetcorn Ovation seeds in the RHS Vegetable Collection are vigorous plants which give impressive crops.

Zea mays : Red Strawberry

A fun variety, Sweetcorn Red Strawberry has tiny, red, jewel-like kernels, on compact, strawberry-shaped ears only 5cm (2in) long, 3-4 cobs per plant. To pop, simply place the entire cob in the microwave and watch it explode with ready to eat fluffy, white popped corn, or use as a colourful part of your autumn decorations.

Zea mays : Rising Sun F1 Hybrid

Supersweet.

Strong growing plants with a vigorous root system, that are early to cob with good weight cobs averaging two per plant. Sweetcorn Rising Sun is a reliable performer in our often indifferent British summers. Requires a fertile soil in a sunny position.

Zea mays : Snobaby

A breeding breakthough in 'baby corn' has produced this superb white variety, being much earlier to crop with the most tender and delicious 'baby corns'. Sweetcorn Snobaby is tasty in oriental cooking, casseroles, stir fries, salads or a steamed vegetable.

Zucchini : All Green Bush

These tiny French delicacies are one of the highlights of the vegetable year. Courgette All Green Bush is easy to grow and heavy cropping. Cook courgettes unpeeled as they have very tender skins, and allow to sizzle in butter - turn with a fork, telling when they are done by prodding them.

Courgette Cavili F1 (top right)

Extra early crops of pale green skinned 15cm (6 inch) fruits with a creamier flesh texture than usual green courgettes. Unique parthenocarpic habit (ability to set fruit without pollination), therefore adverse weather, poor light levels and a lack of pollinating insects does not affect cropping performance!

Courgette Defender F1 (lower right)

One of heaviest yielding courgette varieties with virus resistance. Open plants for easy picking. Produces lots of mid-green, flavoursome fruits throughout the season.

Courgette Parador F1 (left)

Attractive, shiny, golden yellow, cylindrical fruits of excellent flavour. Early maturing and prolific cropping throughout the summer. Adds colour to both the kitchen garden or the mixed flower and vegetable border.

Zucchini : De Nice A Fruit Rond

Conjure up the subtle flavour of Mediterranean cuisine. Succulent ROUND courgettes to be picked at golf ball size and upwards. Courgette De Nice A Fruit Rond is deliciously different, with a flavour all of its own. Eat raw, stuffed or boiled in lightly salted water.
