Melon 'Outdoor Wonder' F1 Hybrid

True to its name, Melon ‘Outdoor Wonder’ is ideal for growing outdoors through black plastic or under cloches. This Galia type reliably produces pale green fleshed melons even in less than perfect British summers, and has good mildew resistance too. The tennis ball sized fruits are the perfect size for a one person serving! Height and spread: 2m (6’, 6").

Melons require high temperatures and humidity. In all but the very warmest areas cultivation is most successful in a greenhouse, or under cover of a cold frame or cloche when growing melons in the UK.

Melon : Castella (Amber Nectar)

Specially bred to produce large melons out of doors. The fruits of Melon Castella can average 3-3.5lb and are tender, juicy and sweet, in fact liberally loaded with luscious flavour. Store in the fridge for at least 1 week longer than standard varieties and they freeze well too. Melon Castella is ideally suited to a warm, sheltered, sunny spot of the garden or greenhouse, frame or polytunnel. Resistant to powdery mildew and Fusarium races 0 to 2.

Melon : Edonis F1 Hybrid

Melon Edonis is very early to ripen and productive, which is an important factor for the UK summers. The pale orange fleshed fruits weigh in at about 600g (1½lb). This fantastic flavoured fruit of Melon Edonis have a refreshing, delicate taste. Fusarium resistant. Seeds are in the RHS Vegetable Collection.

Grow under glass for the earliest crops.

Melon : Eldoraro F1 Hybrid

Very early ripening, round/oval cantaloupe with netted skin and darker green sutures. Melon Eldoraro produces rich orange, sweet fleshed fruits which average 1.2kg (2.5lb). Resistant to fusarium and powdery mildew.

The Galia Melon absolutely oozes with sugary sweet juice and crisp succulent flesh. Galia Melon is very vigorous with fruit maturing early and in rapid succession. Highly mildew resistant

Melon : Hearts of Gold - Organic

Almost round, netted skin 1.3-1.8kg (3 to 4lb) fruits with aromatic, sweet, thick deep orange flesh with a small seed cavity. Ripens early under glass or outdoors.

Bred to give increased Hybrid vigour, garden performance and flavour, thus increasing your harvest. Due to their wide ranging pest and disease resistance, there will be no need for the use of chemicals, making them ideal for organic gardeners.

Melon : Orange Sherbert

You can grow delicious ripe melons outside in a British summer! Melon Orange Sherbert produces ripe fruit successfully outdoors in our summers, best planted through black plastic/mulch, or under a cloche or in a frame. Netted skinned 'charentais type', more oval shaped than round and the one meal size fruits weigh about 500g (1lb) on compact, semi trailing vines.

Melon : Watermelon : Blacktail Mountain

Developed in Idaho to be cold tolerant during summer nights, but also does well under warmer conditions. The fruits of Watermelon Blacktail Mountain have dark green skins with juicy, crunchy scarlet flesh, weighing up to 5kgs (11lbs).

Melon : Watermelon : Yellow Baby

Rated best in taste tests, even beating standard red varieties. Watermelon Yellow Baby is naturally self-pollinating and almost entirely seedless. All its energy is devoted to producing more crisp, yellow, juicy flesh. Watermelon Yellow Baby is an early, 4.5kg (10lb) ice-box size melon which even tolerates cooler weather.

Watermelon : Anguria Valentina F1 Hybrid

Dark green skinned fruits with rich crimson flesh. Watermelon Anguria Valentina will fruit in an open sunny position outdoors but grow under glass for a more reliable crop.
